First Phase Voting

First phase voting on 19 April 2024. The first phase of the 18th Lok Sabha elections in India has ended, in which voting has taken place on 102 seats in 21 states. In the first phase, 62.37% voting took place on 102 seats. There was 69.43% voting in the last Lok Sabha elections. There is now 7% less voting as compared to 2019. Voting percentage has decreased significantly in all 8 seats of UP. Even in Rajasthan and Maharashtra, very few people voted. Voting was not good in North India but there was good voting in North East and South also. More than 80 percent voting took place in Tripura. More than 80 percent voting took place in West Bengal, TMC is in power in West Bengal.

It is a matter of great concern that people do not want to vote in the 2024 elections compared to 2019. Voting is everyone’s first right, only by voting you can choose the government of your choice. Voting in democracy makes democracy strong, if you do not vote then democracy will become lame. Some people believe that Muslims have voted very less because Muslims believe that BJP will get majority, it is also believed that Muslims do not vote for BJP, hence Muslims did not vote.

There are 41 percent Muslim voters in Saharanpur of UP. In Saharanpur, Imran Masood is the Congress candidate and Raghav Lakhanpal is the BJP candidate. In Saharanpur, 70.83% voting took place in 2019 while 65.95% voting took place in 2024. About 5% people did not vote. It is estimated that Muslims have taken very little part in the voting.
People of Rampur have also shown low turnout in elections, 63.17% people voted in the 2019 elections but only 54.77% voted in 2024. Rampur is also a Muslim dominated area, hence here also it is believed that Muslim people have voted less, secondly it is also believed that Azam Khan wanted Akhilesh Yadav to contest elections from Rampur but Akhilesh Yadav was against Azam Khan. No consensus could be reached on this matter, which may cause resentment among Muslim voters. In the first phase of voting, voting took place on 8 seats of UP. 6 out of 8 seats are Muslim dominated. Voting has decreased in 6 out of 6 seats.

There is a lot of resentment among Muslim voters. There was 9% less voting in Rampur compared to 2019. BJP says that our voters have voted for us whereas the voters of other parties did not come out of their homes to vote. Today this means that Hindus vote for BJP and Muslims vote for other parties. BJP says Muslim voters did not vote.
